MISSION

DIALECTICAL PSYCHOLOGY, YOGA & BONDS

creating intimacy + sustainable relationships

Mission.

As a yoga therapist, Sarah Greenwood (she/box free), M.A., LPC, LCMHC, (she/her(s/box free)) has a particular professional draw to those who experience emotions so fully that they are unsure of how to work with the power of such feeling. Soulful, often traumatized & misunderstood individuals in our society tend to be untapped resources full of potential. They are many times the ones who become passionate about righteous change, care beyond words about happenings & have relentless drive towards action. When taught how to work with such gifts in effective ways they can make incredible contributions & are capable of immense joy.

Sarah contends that if we give up on these individuals as practitioners, we have done our society a great disservice. Sarah’s work IS advocacy for those who are often shunned, outcasted, discriminated against & unseen for who they truly are by familial or community systems, partially due to a society that is still attempting to navigate relations without proper education on the function of emotions.

In Sarah’s life experience, she has witnessed that great suffering can be an opportunity gateway for tremendous transformation, relief & even regulated ecstasy. The paths at Yoga of Desire, when approached with authenticity & devotion, offer an opening to becoming more fully vibrant, alive & loving. This is advocacy not just for the oppressed individual, it is a path that is most absolutely advocating for an expansion of validating environments in support of all for a more sound society.

In service to this mission,
may we all realize the interconnectedness,
intimacy & closeness humans are wired for.

Devotion as ground for YODa’s mission.

INTEGRITY
Yoga of Desire (YODa) integrity MEANS mindful transparency, accessibility & responsiveness.

NON-VIOLENCE
YODa vitality/consciousness non-violence (ahimsa) MEANS listening & expressing non-judgmentally, and radically accepting a diversity of emotional & mental limits and personal preferences in bonding needs.

SUSTAINABLE BONDING
Without the foundation of integrity & non-violence, it is not as possible to support vital & sustainable relationships with self or others. YODa sustainable bonding MEANS:

  • we are committed to growth by expanding into taking risks with each other;
  • we listen consciously to diversity arising in our own and others’ limits;
  • we take response-ability for our own self-care in bonding and space needs;
  • and we care for each other by actively not giving up on caring for each other.

DEVOTION AS GROUND
YODa devotion as ground MEANS we consciously agree that we are ultimately moving together in growing our personal, interpersonal & community regulation to support the expansion of a healthier, more vital way of relating.
